If you’re considering purchasing a ticket for Disneyland Paris, I recommend taking a trip to the Frontierland themed area. It’s accessible from Critter Country, Main Street U.S.A., Fantasyland, and New Orleans Square.
The scenery of Frontierland.
Have you ever imagined yourself in the Wild West one day? For my part, cowboys have been a dream since my childhood. Frontierland is an enchanted kingdom inspired by the conquest of the West. The scenery allows visitors to immerse themselves in a completely different world. Tombstones, mountains, legends… everything has allowed me to relive the past of the cowboys who once followed the pioneers’ trails. And I can tell you that it has been a enriching experience.
I must confess that at first, I was a bit nervous about entering this area because of the roller coasters. However, when I arrived on the spot, that little fear that had tortured me disappeared all at once. Indeed, the place is so calming that you even want to stay there for a whole day. If you’re looking for a place to have a good time with the kids, this area is particularly interesting. I myself was charmed by the soothing and peaceful atmosphere conveyed by this place.
All the attractions in Frontierland.
After admiring the beauty of this little American Wild West, I rushed to the attractions. The Frontierland area includes 4 main attractions. They are suitable for the whole family (or almost). So, you can enjoy the time spent in this place to share moments of complicity with your little tribe. In the following, I will give you my impressions of these attractions. Yes, I have tested them all so as not to have any regrets!
Thunder Mesa RiverBoat Landing
This attraction allows for a quite relaxing time. Indeed, you board a full-sized paddle steamer and take a tour around the lake of Frontierland. The scenery is really nice and very relaxing. I strongly advise you not to sit near the chimneys. They start randomly and make a lot of noise! Be careful with your ears.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
So, at first glance, this attraction left me a bit skeptical since the ride is not really similar to that of Disneyland Paris. However, once I found myself on board the locomotive, I must admit that I had a blast like never before.
Frontierland Shootin’ Exposition
This child shooting game attracts a huge crowd. If you come with your little ones, I recommend trying it. Even though the wait can be a bit long, this entertainment is well worth it.
This attraction was completely revamped in 2019. I haven’t tested it since this change. Before, we “traveled” in a haunted mansion. It’s a bit like the concept of a ghost train, but 100 times better and without a train. We are either in an elevator (thrilling) or on foot. Since the refurbishment, the scenery has evolved to provide more than 28 different scenes that rotate to create different routes each time! I will update this post on my next visit to Disney.
The restaurants in Frontierland
I consider meal breaks to be essential during days at the theme park. That’s why I always pay special attention to the on-site restaurants. I’m pleased to announce that this themed area of Disneyland offers visitors a wide choice of restaurants.
Silver Spur Steakhouse
It’s a table-service restaurant ideal for relaxing with family. On the menu, you can find traditional American dishes. And contrary to what I imagined, the restaurant doesn’t only offer meat. I find the quality-to-price ratio to be reasonable. The welcome and service also satisfied me.
Lucky Nugget Saloon
If you enjoy fast-food type of food, this restaurant might be to your liking. However, instead of offering take-out dishes, the establishment provides table service. Nevertheless, you should budget for a bit more as this restaurant is pricier than a typical fast-food restaurant.
Cowboy Cookout Barbecue
It’s a cowboy-themed fast-food with a country ambiance. The establishment offers a choice of 4 different menus to delight your taste buds. The drawback of this restaurant is that it doesn’t provide the necessary comfort in case of bad weather. It’s not an enclosed space.
Now you know what to expect in Frontierland. So, have fun!
